Spring Tryout Information

Tryouts for our State Teams will be held on Sunday, March 14 at Dexter Creekside Intermediate School (2615 Baker Rd, Dexter).  Tryouts cost is $35.

3:00 PM - State Team Tryouts Registration for 13U/14U
4:00 - 6:00 PM - Tryouts for 13U/14U teams

5:00 PM - State Team Tryouts Registration for 15U - 18U
6:00 - 8:00 PM - Tryouts for 15U/16U/17U/18U teams

No tryouts are required for Local teams, including our 10U and 12U teams- all players who sign up will be placed on teams.  Stop by Creekside any time between 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 14 to register for a Local team, or contact the HVVC office.

HVVC Weather Cancellation Policy

HVVC does not formally cancel practices, but if a practice is in an educational facility that has been closed due to weather, then the practice is canceled. Practices in other buildings may be canceled if the surrounding school district has closed due to weather -- an exception to this may include poor morning weather clearing up in time for an evening practice.

In general:
  - Parents have the discretion to decide whether a drive is safe enough to attend practice.
  - Coaches are not to cancel a practice for low attendance due to weather, but can reduce a practice length.
  - If a coach can't make it in, they must contact any other HVVC coaches who can easily cover their practice, along with the HVVC office, before canceling a practice.

Boys' Teams

We have formed an 18U (high school) boys' volleyball team for the winter season.  Practices have started, but we still have open positions.  The team will play in USAV tournaments in Ohio and in the Ann Arbor rec department men's league.  The team fee is $325, which covers all USAV registrations, tournaments, rec league, practices, and jerseys.  Plans are to play tournaments in March-May.

YOUNGER PLAYERS - We hope to form a 14U team at our March tryouts to compete in USAV girls' tournaments.  Boys in the 10U and 12U age groups are allowed to play on our girls' AAU teams, and tryouts for those teams are in March, as well.  If possible, we will keep all boys together on the same team.

INSTRUCTION - If you are interested in coming to practices for instruction but not playing on a team, please let us know.  We may be able to add another instructional court for the winter so you can get training and practice.

2009-10 Rule Changes

There are some significant rule changes regarding contact with the net that will be introduced during the upcoming club season.  Watch an instructional video detailing what will and will not be considered as legal contact with the net, and view the new net and center line rules.

Honor Roll

HVVC 18-Blue tied for fifth place in the Gold Division of the February 6-7 Marathon Oil Winterfest tournament in Columbus, losing only to the first, second and third place teams over the weekend.
